My hair is naturally a medium brown. I got bored and permenantly dyed it a reddish/copper/mahogony colour. Now that a few weeks/months have passed my hair has grown a few inches so the top of my head is a brown again. I don't want to dye it regularly everytime it grows, and don't really want to dye it again.

Pick a color that is the same as your natural color and dye it that color. It should cover the red. If it is a big difference, use a color remover first, then re-dye

The best way to get your hair back to normal is to use a hair dye remover. You can find them at Walmart or any drug/grocery store.

You could have it cut very short, or re dye your roots.

im sorry but there's not much i could say that you can do. But, you can always use a headband. By the way, the color that you dyed your hair, sounds really pretty!

The main choices are to redye it or get your hair bleached so it turns blondish colour then add a colour that is the most natural to your natural hair colour. Also next time you want to dye your hair go for non permant colours that wash out after several weeks.
If not sure what to do with beaching get the hairdresser to do it for you.

there are also some temporary things that are hair color, but they come in a container like mascara. You just brush them on where you part your hair. I don't know if they are good for a day, or a few days.

please dont put another colour on top!!! you must first start with a pre lightner...this will strip the old colour out.dont worry it will look strange but then you buy at the same time a colour close to your natural colour(the one b4 u decided to colour it.if you want natural and minimal roots).then apply the colour you want to be..All very simple but if it scares you then get a proffessional to do it...you dont really need to but dont listen to people who tell you to just cover over as you will end up all colours of the rainbow...Now unless you are a hippie then that isnt a very good look.

The profesional term for it is a RAINBOW band , its because you have uses two different shades of colour , you will most likely keep getting this if you keep putting the red on it as the red fades quite quick , the only thing you can do is to grow it out if you dont wont to dye it anymore.

Thats why you should always go to the hairdressers and not use cheap stupid dye that makes your hair look even worse than it is.
My advice is always use the hairdresser's or your look like a idiot
